Arrive in Chongqing
Welcome to your 3-day Chongqing and Dazu tour! Upon arrival, your guide and driver will meet you at the airport or train station and transfer you to your centrally located hotel for a two-night stay. You’ll then have time to rest or begin exploring this fascinating city at your leisure.

Chongqing Day Trip: Explore Dazu Rock Carvings & Ci Qi Kou
After breakfast, your guide and driver will take you on a 2-hour journey to the UNESCO-listed Dazu Rock Carvings.
Your visit focuses on the Baoding Mountain section, home to over 1,300 intricate statues carved into the cliffs between the 9th and 13th centuries. These carvings are unique for blending Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian themes. Key highlights include the majestic Thousand-Handed Guanyin, the serene 31-meter-long Reclining Buddha, and the imposing Three Saints of Huayan. The scenes also vividly depict everyday life from the period.
In the afternoon, return to the city and explore Ci Qi Kou (Porcelain Port) Ancient Town. Stroll down its narrow cobblestone lanes past well-preserved Qing-dynasty architecture. You can visit traditional courtyards, ancient temples, and sample local snacks like Chen’s Mahua (fried dough twists) or spicy Chongqing noodles at stalls recommended by your guide.
After the visit, you will be escorted back to your hotel.

This morning, your guide will take you to the lush, hillside Chongqing Zoo. Home to over 230 species, its highlights include adorable giant pandas, South China tigers, and Asian elephants.
For the best experience, arrive early (before 11:00 AM) to see the pandas at their most active—typically enjoying breakfast between 8:30-9:00 AM and playing afterwards.
