Arrival in Dali
Upon landing at Dali Airport, your private guide and driver will be waiting for you in the Arrival Hall, holding a sign with your name. After a warm welcome, you’ll be transferred comfortably to your carefully selected hotel.
If your flight arrives earlier in the day, your guide will first accompany you to Dali Ancient City for a relaxed walk. Here you can explore historical landmarks such as the old city walls, Gate Towers, Foreigners Street, and several ancient churches. Later, your guide will help you check in at your hotel, and you’ll have the rest of the day to enjoy at your own pace. In the evening, feel free to wander along the bar street and soak in Dali’s easygoing nightlife.
Travel Tip: Dali is well connected with major cities across China. You can fly directly from Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Chengdu and more. High-speed trains from Kunming to Dali are also frequent and take only about 2 hours.

Dali – Cang Mountain – Chongsheng Temple – Erhai Lake
In the morning, your private driver will take you to Cang Mountain, the highlight of this 3-day Dali tour. A round-trip cable car is arranged for an easy ascent and descent. After getting off the cable car, enjoy a relaxed 40-minute walk along the plank path, where you can admire snow-topped peaks, dense forests, and sweeping views over Erhai Lake and Dali Ancient Town.
In the afternoon, continue to the iconic Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, a landmark of Dali with a history stretching back nearly 1,800 years to the Nanzhao Kingdom. Afterward, head to Erhai Lake and stroll along its ecological corridor to enjoy tranquil lakeside scenery and spot local birdlife. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel to rest.

Xizhou – Zhoucheng – Departure from Dali
After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you in the hotel lobby and take you to Xizhou to explore its bustling morning market. Here, you can experience everyday Bai life as local women in colorful traditional dress sell vegetables, handmade crafts, fabrics, and more.
Next, continue to Zhoucheng, the birthplace of traditional Chinese tie-dye. Visit a local workshop, learn the tie-dyeing process from skilled artisans, and create your own piece to take home as a unique souvenir. Afterwards, head to Yan’s Compound, a classic example of Bai residential architecture. Wander the peaceful courtyards and admire the intricate wood carvings and decorative details.
