Arrival in Lijiang, Pick up and visit Lijiang Ancient Town
When you land in Lijiang, your guide and driver will be waiting for you in the airport’s arrival hall and will take you to your hotel for check-in.
After a brief rest, your unforgettable China old town tour begins at Square Street in Lijiang Ancient Town. Once the commercial and cultural center of Lijiang—and an important hub on the Ancient Tea Horse Road—Square Street covers about 6 mu (1 acre), with four main streets branching out in all directions and linked by a network of narrow lanes. As you stroll through the old town, you’ll be captivated by its small bridges, flowing streams, cobblestone streets, and grey-tiled traditional houses. You’ll also encounter many Naxi residents dressed in their traditional clothing and headpieces, adding even more charm to the experience.

Baishui River, Dry Sea Meadow, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Baisha Village and Murals
This morning, you’ll begin by admiring the stunning scenery of the Baishui River, also known as the White Water River. Flowing at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain—the largest snow mountain in the Northern Hemisphere—the river gets its name from its white appearance, created by the white marble and limestone riverbed beneath the clear water. Next, continue to Dry Sea Meadow. Located on the mountain’s eastern slope, this area was once a highland glacial lake before gradually drying up in the 1940s, leaving behind today’s vast grassland. From here, you can enjoy a sweeping view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
Afterward, take a cable car from Dry Sea Meadow up to the Spruce Plateau, where you can appreciate the mountain from a different angle. We will then transfer you to Baisha Village for a visit with a local Naxi family, offering an authentic look into their daily life. You’ll also explore the Baisha Murals, renowned for their vivid colors and more than 600 years of history.

Black Dragon Pool Park and Dongba Culture Museum, See off
Today’s private Lijiang tour begins at Black Dragon Pool Park, also known as Jade Spring Park. This serene and picturesque spot offers one of the best views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain mirrored in the clear pool below. Arriving early gives you the chance to see local residents practicing Tai Chi or performing traditional dances. From there, you’ll head to the nearby Dongba Culture Museum, which provides an excellent introduction to Dongba culture through its history, pictographic script, music, religion, and more.
