Arrive in Chongqing
Your guide will meet you at Chongqing Airport or train station based on your arrival time.
Your first stop is Hongya Cave, a iconic landmark of Chongqing. This unique complex of stilted buildings clings to the hillside, where you can admire traditional architecture, sample local street food, and browse through lively souvenir shops.
Next, explore the nearby Daijia Alley. This old lane is filled with nostalgic charm, featuring traditional houses, quaint shops, and artistic touches. You will also visit a distinctive tunnel space converted from an old air-raid shelter, known as “Insight into the Mountain City”. Adorned with colorful lights, it displays historical photographs of old Chongqing and various interesting boutiques, offering a glimpse into the city’s past.
In the evening, you will be transferred to board the New Century Cruise Ship. After enjoying a buffet dinner onboard, the river guide will introduce the ship’s facilities and daily schedule. The ship sets sail at 21:30, marking the start of your fantastic journey with a grand welcome party.

Your included shore excursion begins at 08:30 with a visit to Fengdu’s “Ghost City”. Steeped in ancient Chinese folklore, this site represents the netherworld in traditional beliefs, blending Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist elements into a unique cultural landscape. Here, you’ll learn about fascinating legends of the afterlife.
After returning to the ship, the afternoon is yours to relax: sunbathe on the deck, enjoy the ship’s amenities, or participate in various cultural activities offered onboard.

Yangtze River Cruise: A Journey Through the Three Gorges
Today is the highlight of your journey: sailing through the Three Gorges—Qutang, Wu, and Xiling. After breakfast, the cruise will navigate these magnificent stretches of the Yangtze River.
First is the Qutang Gorge, the shortest yet most dramatic of the three, known for its steep cliffs and powerful currents. Around 13:30, you’ll enter the serene and scenic Wu Gorge, often described as a winding natural gallery. Finally, you’ll pass through the Xiling Gorge, once the most treacherous section, now gentler after river improvements and dam construction.
In the afternoon, the shore excursion takes you to the Shennv Stream (Goddess Stream) via a smaller boat. Enjoy the picturesque landscape and learn about the local Tujia ethnic minority culture and history.
The rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the ship’s amenities and activities. For the daily schedule, please consult your river guide or the reception desk.

Departure from Yichang
After an overnight sail, the ship will dock at Maoping Pier in Yichang this morning. You will check out, disembark with your luggage, and visit the monumental Three Gorges Dam—one of the world’s largest hydroelectric projects—marveling at its immense scale.
After the tour, a transfer arranged by the cruise will take you to the Three Gorges Tourist Center in downtown Yichang, where you will meet your local guide and driver. If time allows, you may visit the Yichang Museum (home to over 30,000 historical artifacts) for a deeper look into the region’s culture and ancient past.
Finally, you will be transferred to Yichang Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your Yangtze River journey.
