Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa
After breakfast, set off with your guide and driver across the 4,900‑meter Gampa La Pass to the sacred Yamdrok Lake. The emerald waters reflect snow‑capped peaks, while green meadows along the shore are dotted with grazing yaks and sheep—a scene of pure tranquility. Herders tend their flocks by the water, monks meditate on secluded islands, and the ever‑changing light paints the landscape in serene beauty.
Climb to the Lurila Viewpoint for sweeping vistas of the blue lake and the Mount Kula Kangri range. Then visit Ritoma Monastery, where you can meet a monk in solitary retreat and enjoy a broader perspective of the lake and its islands.
From the Gampa La Viewpoint, Yamdrok Lake stretches like a turquoise ribbon all the way to the foot of Mount Noijin Kangsang (7,191 m)—a truly breathtaking sight.
Enjoy a local lunch at a family‑run restaurant near the lake. Afterwards, relax with a cup of coffee at the southeastern viewpoint, soaking in the panoramic views of water, sky, clouds, and grazing herds.
