Upon reaching the hotel, the guide will assist you with check‑in. We recommend resting in your room to allow your body to adjust to the high‑altitude environment.

Lhasa Day Trip:  Drepung Monastery-Sera Monastery

After breakfast, we’ll visit Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet. Once home to over 10,000 monks, its halls hold centuries of Tibetan Buddhist history. In the Tsogchen Hall, your guide will introduce you to key figures and core philosophies of Tibetan Buddhism, offering a deeper understanding of this spiritual tradition.

Next, we’ll enter Loseling Buddhist College (or similar), where you can observe how monks study and practice, and even step into their living quarters to glimpse their daily life.

In the afternoon, the tour continues to Sera Monastery. If visiting between Monday and Saturday around 3 pm, your guide will take you to the Debate Garden to witness the famous Sera monastic debates. Experience the lively atmosphere of this ancient intellectual tradition, while learning about its history, significance, and role in monastic training.

The day concludes with a Tibetan‑style welcome dinner, a perfect opportunity to share impressions with your fellow travelers.

Lhasa Day Trip: Potala Palace-Jokhang Temple-Barkhor Street

Your first stop is the magnificent Potala Palace. While enjoying panoramic views of Lhasa, your guide will share stories of the Dalai Lamas’ lives and explain the historical treasures preserved within.

Next, visit Dragon King Pool Park at the foot of the palace. Admire the Potala from different angles and have the chance to join in local Tibetan daily activities.

In the afternoon, step into the spiritual heart of Tibet—the Jokhang Temple. Here you can pay respects to the rare 12‑year‑old life‑size statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. In the temple square, you’ll witness devout pilgrims offering prayers and prostrations.

Outside the temple, walk along the Barkhor Street and join locals in a clockwise kora (ritual circuit), observing how faith is woven into daily life. Finally, follow your guide to a bustling Tibetan teahouse, sip sweet milk tea, and listen to locals chatting about everyday life—immersing yourself in the rhythm of Lhasa.

Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa

After breakfast, set off with your guide and driver across the 4,900‑meter Gampa La Pass to the sacred Yamdrok Lake. The emerald waters reflect snow‑capped peaks, while green meadows along the shore are dotted with grazing yaks and sheep—a scene of pure tranquility. Herders tend their flocks by the water, monks meditate on secluded islands, and the ever‑changing light paints the landscape in serene beauty.

Climb to the Lurila Viewpoint for sweeping vistas of the blue lake and the Mount Kula Kangri range. Then visit Ritoma Monastery, where you can meet a monk in solitary retreat and enjoy a broader perspective of the lake and its islands.

From the Gampa La Viewpoint, Yamdrok Lake stretches like a turquoise ribbon all the way to the foot of Mount Noijin Kangsang (7,191 m)—a truly breathtaking sight.

Enjoy a local lunch at a family‑run restaurant near the lake. Afterwards, relax with a cup of coffee at the southeastern viewpoint, soaking in the panoramic views of water, sky, clouds, and grazing herds. Let yourself unwind completely in this romantic, high‑altitude setting—a day that will surely become one of your most cherished memories in Tibet.

In the evening, return to Lhasa, carrying the peace of the holy lake with you.
