Chengdu: Panda Base, Kuanzhai Alley, Jinsha Site Museum
Morning – Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Visit early when pandas are most active. The Base recreates natural habitat with bamboo groves, ponds and outdoor enclosures for adults and cubs. Key viewing areas include adult panda ‘villas’ and the maternity/enclosure zones where newborns and young cubs are cared for. You’ll also see red pandas and informative exhibits on conservation and breeding.
Midday – Kuanzhai Alley
Explore three historic parallel lanes (Wide Alley, Narrow Alley, Well Alley) featuring tea houses, craft shops, and street snacks — a good place to taste Chengdu’s café and teahouse culture.
Afternoon – Jinsha Site Museum
Discover Bronze Age Shu civilization: gold foil motifs (Sun & Immortal Bird), bronze vessels, jade ornaments and the onsite excavation area that reveal 3,000+ years of regional history.

High-speed Train to Chongqing · Ciqikou, Liziba & City Highlights
Morning transfer to the railway station for a high-speed train to Chongqing. On arrival a local guide will take you to Ciqikou Ancient Town (Porcelain Town) to stroll preserved Ming/Qing-style alleys, watch local handicraft demos, and sample street food. Then visit Liziba Light Rail Station to see the famous scene where a train passes through a building and Kuixing Building for a quirky urban perspective that demonstrates Chongqing’s layered topography. Evening option: visit Hongya Cave – an 11-storey stilted complex on the Jialing River famous for night lights and riverside dining.

Chongqing Wulong Karst Day Trip: Wulong Karst National Geology Park
Drive ~3.5 hours to Wulong Karst National Geology Park, center of dramatic karst scenery. The highlight is the Three Natural Bridges – Tianlong, Qinglong and Heilong – towering stone bridges carved by erosion, set in a verdant limestone valley with streams, sinkholes and waterfalls. Walk valley trails, visit filming locations, and – time permitting – stop at Fairy Mountain (an alpine plateau with grasslands and forest) on the route back.

Free Morning in Chongqing → High-speed Train to Zhangjiajie
Enjoy a relaxed morning in Chongqing. In the afternoon take a ~3-hour high-speed train to Zhangjiajie (Wulingyuan). On arrival, your Zhangjiajie guide will transfer you to a hotel near the National Forest Park. Evening suggestion: try local Tujia cuisine — specialties include dry-pot dishes, free-range chicken and regional smoked meats.

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park: Bailong Elevator, Yuanjiajie, Tianzi Mountain
Today you enter Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Take the eco-bus to the Bailong (Hundred-Dragon) Elevator, which lifts you from the valley floor to the mountaintop in under two minutes – a dramatic, cliff-side ascent that opens into Yuanjiajie scenic area. In Yuanjiajie admire the pillar formations that inspired the floating “Hallelujah” peaks in Avatar. Continue to Yangjiajie to see the Natural Great Wall rock formations, then visit Tianzi Mountain with its panoramic viewpoints (Imperial Brush Peak, Fairy Dispersing Flowers). Descend by cable car for a memorable finish.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Golden Whip Stream
Morning – Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge
Visit the Grand Canyon and walk the famous glass bridge (cable-stayed glass walkway spanning the canyon). It’s an adrenaline-pumping vantage point and photo opportunity; some operators also offer bungee or cliff-edge experiences.
Afternoon – Golden Whip Stream
Return to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park to hike along Golden Whip Stream, a tranquil, well-maintained river trail that weaves beneath sandstone pillars and through primeval forest — an excellent chance to see the area’s biodiversity and geological features up close.

Tianmen Mountain → Departure from Zhangjiajie
Take the world-famous Tianmen Mountain cable car – one of the longest single-stretch mountain cableways – up to the mountaintop. Walk the Cloud Corridor and test your nerves on the Glass Skywalk hanging off the cliff. Visit Tianmen Cave, a large natural arch, and descend using the scenic cableway or the winding mountain road. After the mountain visit your guide will transfer you to the airport or railway station for departure.
