Day 1:Chengdu Arrival

Your driver and your guide will pick you up at the airport and drive you to the hotel for check-in.

Day 2: Chengdu → Dujiangyan → Siguniangshan Town

Morning

  • 07:00 Meet your private guide and driver at your Chengdu hotel.
  • Enjoy a scenic 1.5‑hour drive north to the ancient Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a 2,000‑year‑old world heritage waterworks still nourishing the fertile Chengdu Plain. Explore the Yuzui Bypass Dike, Feishayan Floodgate and Baopingkou Diversion Passage, marveling at the ingenuity of early Chinese engineers.

Afternoon

  • Continue winding up into the mountains, passing fields of blooming rape flowers across the flat plain. Climb through the “Sea of Clouds” at Balang Mountain (4,532 m) and catch your first distant glimpse of snow‑capped Mount Siguniang.
  • Arrive in Siguniangshan Town (3,200 m) by late afternoon. Have a rest and stay overnight in this town.

Day 3: Siguniangshan Town → Changping Valley → Siguniangshan Town

Morning

  • After breakfast, stroll from your hotel to the Changping Valley visitor center. Board the sightseeing shuttle to the Lama Temple (5 km), a tranquil Gelug‑sect monastery.

Midday Hike

  • Hike the wooden boardwalk from the temple through waterfalls, ancient pines and deep ravines. Continue past the end of the platform trail on rugged footpaths to Muluozi, traversing wild forests, streams, sea‑buckthorn thickets, red rock outcrops and serene plateau lakes reflecting the Four Girls peaks.

Afternoon Return

  • Last, take a sightseeing bus to go out. Total hiking time is around eight hours, but you can tailor the distance to your fitness.

Tips

  • The scenic area also provides horse for transferring luggage and riding in case you get tired of walking.
  • Altitudes range from 3,200 m to 3,670 m—pacing yourself helps avoid altitude discomfort. You can decide how long you want to hike based on your physical condition at that time
  • No dining facilities en route; pack snacks, water, sunscreen and sunglasses.

Day 4: Siguniangshan Town → Danba

Morning Transfer

  • Depart after breakfast for Danba County (2.5 h drive), stopping en route at Zhonglu Tibetan Village. Wander among its ancient stone watchtowers and white‑washed homes punctuated by pear blossoms and rhododendrons.

Afternoon in Jiaju

  • Head to Jiaju Tibetan Village, acclaimed by National Geographic as one of China’s most picturesque. From the hilltop viewpoint, photograph terraces of traditional Jiarong houses draped in peach and pear blossoms. Optional home visits let you experience authentic Tibetan hospitality and crafts.

Evening

  • Arrive in Danba and stay overnight there.

Day 5: Danba → Jinchuan → Danba

Morning

  • Drive 2.5 hours to Jinchuan County, famed for the world’s largest snow‑pear orchards. In spring, endless white blooms carpet the valley.
  • Photograph the floral spectacle from Shenxianbao Viewing Platform near Sha’er Town and roam the orchards on foot. Extend to Ge’er Town for further blossom immersion.
  • Return to Danba for the night.

Day 6: Danba → Tagong → Xinduqiao → Kangding

Tagong Grassland

  • After breakfast, head to Tagong, where yaks and sheep graze beneath the ivory‑peaked Yala Mountain (5,884 m). Visit the golden Tagong Monastery, “Little Jokhang,” and learn its thousand‑year‑old legends.

Photographer’s Paradise

  • Continue through Xinduqiao, famed for ever‑changing light, riverside poplars and tiled Tibetan farmhouses—ideal for landscape photography.
  • Climb over Zheduo Pass (4,298 m) with sweeping views of Mount Gongga before arriving in Kangding and lodging.

Day 7: Kangding → Leshan

Kangding Stroll

  • Morning at leisure in Kangding town, where the folk song “Kangding Love Song” fills the air.

Transfer to Leshan

  • After lunch, depart on a 3.5–4 hour drive to Leshan. Evening at your hotel overlooking the river.

Day 8: Leshan → Chengdu

Jiayang Steam Train

  • Depart early for Qianwei County to board the historic Jiayang Steam Train (operational since 1958). Wind past terraced rape fields in full bloom, disembark for photos, then return by rail.

Leshan Giant Buddha

  • Next, visit the 71 m tall Leshan Giant Buddha, carved into the cliffside between 713–803 AD. Descend the Nine‑Turn Plank Road to stand at its feet and admire its sheer scale.

Return to Chengdu

  • Late afternoon, drive back to Chengdu (~2 h) and check into your hotel.

Day 9: Chengdu & Departure

Panda Base Morning

  • Explore the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding before the crowds: watch pandas of all ages eating, playing and cub‑nursing in the nursery hall.

Cultural Afternoon

  • Visit Wenshu Temple, a hidden oasis in downtown Chengdu, then unwind like a local in People’s Park with tea, mahjong and tai chi.
  • Stroll through atmospheric Jinli Old Street, sampling snacks and browsing handicrafts.

Farewell Transfer

  • Finally, your guide and driver will see you safely to Chengdu’s airport or train station for your onward journey.
