Arrive in Urumqi – Hotel Check-in

Guests arriving from across China will be met at Urumqi Diwopu International Airport and transferred to the city hotel. After check-in, enjoy free time. Recommended activities:

  • International Grand Bazaar Night Market: Taste Xinjiang’s local cuisine and experience the region’s rich ethnic culture.

  • Hongshan Park: Urumqi landmark; climb to the top for panoramic views and night photography.

  • Xinjiang Museum: Showcases Silk Road culture with 64,952 artifacts. (Closed on Mondays; reservation 1–3 days in advance)

Dining Suggestions:

  • Silk Road Restaurant: Roasted lamb leg, salt-grilled skewers, Baursak with beef and pickles, spicy chicken, etc. (~100 CNY per person).

  • Loulant Restaurant: Cumin lamb chops, Loulan grilled fish, fig yogurt dumplings (~120 CNY per person).

Urumqi to Korla via Southern Xinjiang Scenic Route

Depart Urumqi around 08:00, driving south through the Ganggou Gorge, passing landmarks such as Daban City Wind Farm and Xinjiang Salt Lake City (roadside viewing only). Lunch on the way is self-arranged. Continue to Bosten Lake, the largest inland freshwater lake in China, explore Haixin Island and Egret Isle, then arrive in Korla for hotel check-in. Evening stroll along Peacock River is recommended.

Korla to Kuqa via Tata Secret Land

Explore Tata Secret Land, a hidden oasis in the Taklamakan Desert (tickets + shuttle included). Continue to Kuqa City and visit:

Inclusions

Transportation:

  • Small group (2–6 people) in a 7-seat luxury business vehicle with valid operating license (vehicle model not guaranteed).

  • One seat per person is guaranteed.

Accommodation:

  • 7 nights in total (hotel rooms are standard double rooms by default; triple rooms or single rooms are not provided).

  • Single travelers agree to share a room. Regardless of whether sharing is successful, no single-room supplement will be charged. If a guest refuses to share with other travelers or the driver, a single-room supplement must be paid.

  • For one adult traveling with a child, the child must have a bed.

  • Xinjiang hotels are generally lower in standard than major Chinese cities; hotels in towns, mountains, or scenic areas are 1–2 levels below city hotels. Travelers should be mentally prepared.

Tickets:

  • First-entry tickets and shuttle transfers for listed attractions are included:

    • Tata Secret Land (ticket + shuttle)

    • Kiziliya Canyon

    • White Sand Lake

    • Mustagh Glacier Park (ticket + shuttle)

Driver Service:

  • Service from Urumqi to Kashgar included.

  • No guide service is included. The driver handles pick-up/drop-off and coordination only.

  • Drivers may take photos during the trip with their equipment. These photos are generally better than typical driver shots but are not professional photography.

Important Notes

Leaving the Group:

  • If a traveler chooses to leave the group during the tour, any uncompleted portion is considered voluntarily forfeited. Only unused portions of the package will be refunded. Transportation fees are non-refundable.

Return Travel:

  • Booking flights or trains on the day of group dispersal is not recommended.

Discounts:

  • Travelers over 60, disabled persons, or children under 1.2m, and those with other valid discount certificates must inform at booking and bring the relevant documents.

Other Instructions:

  • If an attraction is closed due to force majeure and cannot be visited, the itinerary may be adjusted or replaced. Price differences will be refunded or compensated on-site.

  • Pre-departure: Travelers will receive a tour notice via call or SMS before 22:00 the day before departure. Please keep your phone available. If no notice is received, contact the booking agent immediately.

Friendly Reminders

  1. Provide accurate and complete ID and contact information when booking. Many attractions require ID for entry. Incorrect info may cause entry problems. The travel agency is not responsible for issues caused by inaccurate personal information.

  2. Free activities or gifts included in the itinerary may not be available due to weather, traffic, or personal reasons. No refunds will be issued if a guest chooses not to participate.

  3. If a traveler leaves the group midway, any uncompleted portion is considered forfeited; transportation fees are non-refundable.

  4. If attractions close due to force majeure, adjustments may be made, and any price difference will be refunded or supplemented on-site.

  5. Guests with eligible discount certificates must inform and show them at ticket purchase; policies are subject to the attraction’s standards on the day.

  6. Single travelers sharing a room will not be charged a single-room supplement, regardless of whether sharing succeeds. If a single traveler refuses to share and wants a single room, the supplement must be paid in advance.

  7. Children are not allowed to share a room with other guests or bring children to share a room; if a single adult travels with a child, a single-room supplement or child-as-adult arrangement must be made.

  8. Single travelers agreeing to share with the same gender must follow the driver’s arrangement. If sharing is unavailable, the traveler may pay on-site for a single room if available; if not, a separate arrangement cannot be guaranteed.

  9. Xinjiang cuisine is generally heavier and spicier than other regions; try smaller portions multiple times.

  10. Breakfast is usually around 09:00, lunch 14:00–15:00, and dinner 20:00 (Xinjiang follows Beijing time but has a 2-hour time difference). Bring snacks for long drives.

  11. Hotels and scenic-area accommodations in Xinjiang are generally lower standard than equivalent hotels in other Chinese cities; travelers should be prepared.

  12. The itinerary may be adjusted according to weather, road conditions, or attraction conditions.
