Urumqi Arrival

Guests from all parts of the country will take a flight or train to Urumqi and transfer to the hotel for rest.

Urumqi
Known as the city farthest from any ocean in the world, Urumqi is the geographical center of Asia and an essential stop along the ancient “Northern Route” of the Silk Road. Covering about one-sixth of China’s total land area, Xinjiang is the country’s largest provincial region. With its typical temperate continental arid climate, the annual natural precipitation averages only 155 mm.
Snowmelt from surrounding mountains forms many rivers, and oases are distributed around the basin edges and river valleys—covering about 5% of the region and forming a unique oasis ecosystem.

It is an essential site for studying ancient Western Regions culture and the Silk Road.
