Arrival – Lanzhou Airport / Train Station – Hotel Check-in
Travellers from all parts of China arrive in Lanzhou by flight or train and transfer to the hotel for rest.

Lanzhou – (380km, ~5.5 hrs) – Dangchang (Guanyegou Scenic Area incl. sightseeing bus)
Guanyegou Scenic Area
Located in Dangchang County, Longnan City of Gansu, Guanyegou is made up of two main valleys—Guanzhu Valley and Eman Valley—covering 42,000 hectares and stretching 32 km.
The first section consists of 13 lakes with different shades of blue; the second features canyons, waterfalls, alpine meadows, dense pine forests and snowy mountains.
With elevations ranging from 1,780m to 4,153m, Guanyegou combines forest, prairie, water, canyon, geological formations and ethnic culture in one destination. Tibetan and Qiang ethnic groups still live here with traditional attire and customs.

Lazikou Pass
“Lazikou” in Tibetan means “dangerous mountain mouth.” This is a historically strategic narrow pass linking the ancient Gansu–Sichuan trade route and the present Min–Die Highway. Crossing the snow mountains and grasslands, this pass opens into the plains of the Han region.
Zhagana Scenic Area
Located in Diebu County of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Zhagana is a Tibetan village surrounded by dramatic rock cliffs.
Ancient wooden Tibetan houses are built along the mountain slopes, creating pastoral scenery of villages, farmlands, and rivers. With an altitude between 3,000–3,300m and peaks reaching 4,500m, Zhagana means “stone box” in Tibetan.
It is known as a natural “stone city,” resembling a vast ancient fortress made entirely of natural rock formations—a paradise for sightseeing, photography, and cultural exploration.

Flower Lake (Huahu / Mido Lake)
Known as the sapphire of the grasslands, Flower Lake shimmers under the light, surrounded by dense reeds.
Wildlife thrives—yellow ducks, seagulls, black-necked cranes, marmots, Tibetan hares, swans and countless birds. The scenery feels like an otherworldly animal kingdom.
First Bend of the Nine-curved Yellow River
Located at Tangke Town on the Sichuan–Qinghai–Gansu border, the Yellow River flows gently across the plains and forms an iconic “S-shaped” curve.
At this point, the Yellow River acts as the boundary between Sichuan and Gansu, while the White River merges into the Yellow River at the curve’s peak.
This bend is famed for its grand open landscape and legendary sunset view.

Lotus Mountain (Lianbaoyezhe)
Often referred to as “Little Switzerland of China,” Lotus Mountain is a sacred alpine region with jagged peaks, massive granite walls, glacier valleys and crystal-blue lakes.
With an average elevation above 4,000m and the highest peak at 5,141m, it ranks among the top ten sacred mountains in the Tibetan region.
Gemo Monastery
Also known as Huiyuan Temple, one of the three major Gelugpa monasteries in Aba Prefecture and a branch of the famous Labrang Monastery.
Built in 1790, the monastery stands in an open grassland basin, featuring exquisite Tibetan architecture.

Niangma Monastery
Founded in 1834, the monastery houses significant relics including statues of Padmasambhava, Sakyamuni, 19 murals, over 40 thangkas, a 13m Bodhi Stupa and sacred Vajra ritual items.
It is famous for the world’s largest revolving prayer wheel (Guinness record)—42.38m high, storing 1080 parts of the Tibetan Tripitaka.
Langmusi
Situated on the border of Sichuan and Gansu, Langmusi is surrounded by grasslands, forests, red cliffs and mountains, often called “Little Switzerland of the East.”
Two major monasteries sit on opposite sides of a clear stream—the Gansu-side Saichi Monastery and the Sichuan-side Gerdi Monastery.
A hike along the creek leads into the breathtaking Namo Grand Canyon.

Ganga Secret Land
Located in Xiahe County, this region features dramatic elevation changes, canyons, stone forests, highland lakes, ancient caves and historic Tibetan sites including the Eight-sided Ancient City, Zuo Hai Temple and the Denisovan cave archaeological site.
Labrang Monastery
One of the six great monasteries of the Gelugpa school and a major center of Tibetan culture for Gansu, Qinghai and Sichuan.
Built in 1709, Labrang features six major monastic institutes, 18 living Buddha residences, courtyards, stupas, sutra halls and classic Tibetan architecture.
Sangke Grassland
A vast alpine meadow at over 3,000m elevation and one of the main pastoral bases of Gannan. With only 4,000 local herders, the grassland remains immense, serene and pristine.

Milarepa Buddhist Pavilion
Also called “Anduo Milarepa Nine-Story Pavilion,” originally built in 1777 and rebuilt in 1988.
It commemorates the legendary Tibetan saint Milarepa and houses 1,720 statues of founders, deities and protectors from various Tibetan Buddhist lineages.
Meiren Grassland
A plateau meadow landscape featuring open terrain and sweeping views representing the beauty of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau.
Yeliguan Scenic Area
An ancient gateway into the Tibetan region and an important section of the historic tea-horse trade route.
Famous for lush mountains, cliffs, lakes, and the scenic Yehai Lake—also called “Changye Pool,” tied to myths of Ming dynasty expeditions.

Liujiaxia Reservoir
Located along the border of Gansu and Qinghai, this large hydroelectric reservoir powers Gansu, Qinghai and Shaanxi. The scenic speedboat journey crosses dramatic canyon landscapes leading toward the Bingling Grottoes.
