Transportation to Chengdu Wuhou Shrine
Wuhou Shrine is located within the First Ring Road of Chengdu, close to the city center, making it extremely convenient to reach.
- Subway (Most Recommended): Take Subway Line 3 or Line 5 to Gaoshengqiao Station. Exit from Gate C or Gate D, and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Wuhou Shrine. - Bus: Take bus lines 1, 10, 57, 82, 301, 334, 335, 503, 521, 901, or 904, and get off at “Wuhou Shrine Station”. The bus stop is right near the main entrance. The bus fare is 2 RMB.
- Taxi / Ride-hailing: A taxi from Chunxi Road or Taikoo Li to Wuhou Shrine takes about 15-20 minutes and costs about 15-25 RMB. From Chengdu East Station, the trip takes about 30 minutes and costs about 30-40 RMB. From Shuangliu Airport, the trip takes about 40 minutes and costs about 50-60 RMB.
- Self-Driving: If driving, navigate to “Wuhou Shrine Museum South Parking Lot” or the “Underground Parking Lot at the West Gate of Wuhou Shrine.” The parking lots are open 24 hours, with a fee of approximately 10-20 RMB per day.

Han Zhaolie Temple
Han Zhaolie Temple is the main hall of Wuhou Shrine, dedicated to Liu Bei, the founding emperor of the Shu Han dynasty. Inside, there is a gilded statue of Liu Bei, approximately 3 meters tall. The side halls to the left and right house statues of Liu Bei’s sworn brothers, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei.
- East Side Hall (Guan Yu Hall): Features a statue of Guan Yu, with his Green Dragon Crescent Blade standing nearby. Guan Yu is renowned for his loyalty and righteousness, revered later as a “Military Saint”. Murals and statues depict classic stories like “Guan Yu Crossing Five Passes and Slaying Six Generals” and “The Lone Journey to the Meeting”.

- Location: The Red Wall Pathway is located between Huiling (Liu Bei’s Tomb) and Sanyi Temple, stretching several hundred meters as a corridor connecting the two attractions. - Visiting Time: The Red Wall Pathway gets crowded on weekends and holidays. It is recommended to visit before 9:00 AM or after 5:00 PM on weekdays when fewer visitors are around for a better experience.
Huilin
Huiling is the joint tomb of Liu Bei and his consorts, Lady Gan and Lady Wu, located in the western part of the Wuhou Shrine scenic area, with a history of over 1800 years. The tomb mound is about 12 meters high with a circumference of about 180 meters, making it one of the best-preserved imperial tombs in China.
