Arrival in Lhasa from Worldwide Destinations
Welcome to Lhasa, the Holy City of Tibet, located at an altitude of 3,650 meters. Our driver will meet you outside Lhasa Railway Station or Lhasa Gonggar International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Lhasa. The hotel provides oxygen supply service to help travelers adapt to the high altitude.
After checking in, it is recommended to avoid strenuous activities, showers, and washing your hair on the first day. Relax and take it easy to acclimatize to the plateau environment.
Lhasa Railway Station is located about 8 km from Potala Palace. On the way to downtown Lhasa, you can enjoy beautiful views of the Lhasa River. If arriving by air, the drive from Lhasa Gonggar International Airport takes around one hour, passing traditional Tibetan villages and scenic countryside landscapes.

Lhasa – Drepung Monastery Shoton Festival & Sera Monastery
Early in the morning, visit Drepung Monastery to attend the annual Shoton Festival Buddha Unveiling Ceremony, one of the most important religious events in Tibet.
At around 8:00 AM, under the first rays of sunlight and accompanied by solemn chanting, a giant 500-square-meter Thangka of Buddha is slowly unfolded on the hillside behind the monastery. Tens of thousands of Tibetan pilgrims and visitors gather to witness this sacred ceremony.
In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, one of the six major Gelug monasteries of Tibetan Buddhism and one of the three great monasteries of Lhasa. Sera Monastery is especially famous for its monk debate sessions held in the debate courtyard from around 3:00 PM.
After the monastery visit, you can freely explore the streets of Lhasa and experience the deep spiritual atmosphere of Tibetan culture.

Lhasa City Tour – Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor Street
Today you will visit the iconic Potala Palace, the highest ancient palace complex in the world and the former residence of the Dalai Lamas. The palace houses priceless murals, Thangka paintings, Buddhist statues, and golden stupas.
In the afternoon, continue to Jokhang Temple, the spiritual heart of Tibet built during the Tubo Dynasty. The temple enshrines the revered 12-year-old statue of Buddha brought to Tibet by Princess Wencheng.
You can also walk around Barkhor Street with local pilgrims who perform kora around the temple while spinning prayer wheels and chanting prayers.

Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Karola Glacier – Gyantse – Shigatse
Drive from Lhasa to the stunning Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three holy lakes. Located at an altitude of 4,441 meters, the turquoise lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Tibetan villages, and grazing yaks.
Later, pass by the magnificent Karola Glacier, one of the most accessible glaciers in Tibet. Continue to Gyantse to view the ancient Gyantse Fortress before arriving in Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet.

Shigatse – Lhatse – Tingri – Everest Base Camp
Travel through Lhatse and cross Gyatsola Pass at 5,220 meters, where you can enjoy your first distant view of Mount Everest.
In the afternoon, arrive at Everest National Nature Reserve and visit Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world and one of the best places to view Mount Everest.
Then take the eco-bus to Everest Base Camp at an altitude of 5,200 meters. If weather permits, you may witness the famous Everest flag clouds floating above the world’s highest peak.

Everest Base Camp – Tingri – Shigatse

Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Lhasa
Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lamas and one of the six major Gelug monasteries in Tibet.
The monastery is home to the world’s largest gilded seated Maitreya Buddha statue, standing 28 meters high. After the visit, drive back to Lhasa while enjoying the vast Tibetan plateau scenery.

Lhasa – Namtso Lake – Lhasa
Drive to Namtso Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes and the highest saltwater lake in the world at 4,718 meters above sea level.
Along the way, enjoy views of the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, Northern Tibetan Grasslands, Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, and Nagqu River. Cross the dramatic Nagela Pass at 5,190 meters before reaching the crystal-clear holy lake.
After sightseeing, return to Lhasa.
